Most anticipated 2019 releases // Top Ten Tuesday
Possibly my favourite thing about the New Year is seeing everyone's lists of highly anticipated upcoming releases. In fact, this is actually the main way I find out about a lot of soon-to-be-published books (and also the reason why my TBR pile is so big!)
We all know that the publishing industry is MASSIVE. The volume of books released every year – even just YA – is terribly overwhelming, so it's hard to stay on top of newly-released sequels, let alone books by entirely unfamiliar debut authors! As such, the majority of my highly anticipated releases this year are, unsurprisingly, sequels or books by authors I've previously read. BUT I have also included two debuts!
Of course, this list could easily be twice or even three times as long (especially with all of Jay Kristoff's upcoming releases!)

5. Misrule by Jodi McAlister
(Expected publication: 5th February 2019)
I have limited recollection of what happened in the first two books but I know I loved them and also that Ironheart ended in a WICKED cliffhanger!

So many exciting new books! And it looks like February and March are going to be busy reading months for me! Three books due for release on 26th February alone! Also, four of the books on this list are by Australian authors, which makes me really happy!
What are your most anticipated releases of 2019? Are you looking forward to any of the books that I've listed? Let me know in the comments below and leave a link to your TTT so I can check it out (and add even more books to my TBR, lol)!

Niamh, xo.
I'm all for a Robin Hood re-telling if it's good! Also, "Four Deed Queens" isn't one I've read about, but that title sure sounds like it'll be an intense, but perhaps interesting read. Hope you enjoy all of these!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping they both live up to expectations! Thanks, Rissi!
DeleteOn the Come Up is on my list, too. One good thing about doing this activity, now I am really excited about a few upcoming books. Since I usually don't pay attention to releases this is a new position for me. Hope you get to read a few of your anticipated books. My Anticipated Releases
ReplyDeleteYes, me too! Thanks for visiting, Anne, I hope you get to read some of your anticipated books too!
DeleteHow did I not know about the Rainbow Rowell? What a fail on my behalf! Wonderful list. My TTT
ReplyDeleteI think it might have originally been scheduled for release in 2020 but then got brought forward? Not complaining though!
DeleteWow Shadowhunters is going gangbusters! Glad to see it going strong! And Sherwood looks really good- I kinda want that one as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to read The cruel Prince soon and then Wicked King! Holly Black has been on my list of authors to try for ages seems like.
Cassandra Clare just keeps churning out more books! I need to read some of Holly Black's earlier work too!
DeleteI want to read Darkdawn just for that gorgeous cover. And I just bought The Cruel Prince so I can't wait to finish it and starting reading The Wicked King. Great choices! My TTT
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to see what the UK/AU cover looks like! Ahhh I hope you enjoy TCP! Thanks for visiting, Chelsey!
DeleteYou have four books on this list that I have pre-ordered: The Wicked King, Four Dead Queens, Priory of the Orange Tree, and Chain of Gold. I'm also looking forward to Ghosts of the Shadow Market.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices! Oh, how could I have forgotten to include Ghosts of the Shadow Market?!
DeleteI think Four Dead Queens looks amazing too!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT this week.
It's so exciting (and rare!) to see a standalone fantasy novel by an Australian author!
DeleteHere's hoping that "On the Come Up" is a great read. I think it will be!
ReplyDeleteThis is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I have high hopes! If it's half as good as THUG then we'll be in for a treat!
DeletePriory was on my list this week too!

It's the March book of the month for the book club that I participate in and I'm so excited to read and discuss it!
DeleteSo many great picks!! 2019 is killing it. I'm still so in shock (in the best way imaginable) about us getting more than one Cassandra Clare release this year. AHHH!
ReplyDeleteCassie Clare is a writing MACHINE! I don't know how she does it but I'd like three new Shadowhunters books every year please.
DeleteI’m so excited for Wayward Son. It’s probably my most-anticipated release this year.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited but also nervous! It's been a few years since Carry On and I'm slightly concerned that it can't possibly live up to the hype!
DeleteI like the sound of Sherwood! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteHaving lived in Nottingham for a time, I have a bit of an attachment to the Robin Hood legend so I'm hoping this retelling does it justice!
